Microsampling: Introducing Quantitative, Drop-of-Blood Testing — Cedars-Sinai (2017)

cedar-Sinai
2017

This presentation describes validation of Mitra dried blood microsampling for total RNA and DNA purification and downstream applications. Results supported correlations with standard methods and the potential for convenient remote collection, genotyping, and biomarker analysis.

LC-HRMS analysis of 216 patient micro-volume blood samples to allow clinical assessment of medication adherence

De Monfort University
2017

This study compared VAMS and conventional dried blood spot cards for LC-HRMS measurement of 11 cardiovascular drugs in patient samples. Both approaches supported medication-adherence assessment, while VAMS avoided blood-volume variation associated with hematocrit.

Large Molecule Application of Volumetric Absorptive Microsampling for the Determination of a Single-Rodent PK Profile for Exenatide by LC-MS/MS

Altasciences
2017

This presentation evaluates VAMS for determining a single-rodent pharmacokinetic profile for exenatide by LC-MS/MS. The method demonstrated strong linearity, precision, and accuracy while minimizing hematocrit-related effects.

Evaluation of Mitra microsampling device for multiple reaction monitoring based measurements of proteins in serum

Miriam N. Meier; James Rudge; Stephen R. Pennington
2017

This study evaluates mitra microsampling device for multiple reaction monitoring based measurements of proteins in serum. The data obtained here suggest that the potential use of Mitra devices for sampling, shipping and storing serum prior to measurement of serum protein biomarkers by MRM merits further investigation.

Comparison of VAMS and card based microsampling with LCHRMS analysis to assess cardiovascular drug levels

Dennis Bernieh, Graham Lawson, Sangeeta Tanna
2017

This study compared VAMS with conventional dried blood spot cards for LC-HRMS measurement of 10 cardiovascular drugs. It evaluated analytical performance and user experience while considering the hematocrit-related limitations of card-based sampling.

Comparing diene derivatisation methods of dry blood spot samples for vitamin D metabolites quantification by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

Akanyang Annah Faithful Rapholo
2017

This thesis compares diene derivatization methods for quantifying vitamin D metabolites in dried-blood-spot samples by LC-MS/MS. The work evaluates alternative analytical approaches and their suitability for vitamin D measurement.

Iron isotopic analysis of finger-prick and venous blood by multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry after volumetric absorptive microsampling

Anoshkina, Yulia; Costas-Rodríguez, Marta; Vanhaecke, Frank
Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry | 2017

This study examines iron isotopic analysis of finger-prick and venous blood by multi-collector inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry after volumetric absorptive microsampling. No significant differences were found between the two blood types.

Comparative study on microsampling techniques in metabolic fingerprinting studies applying gas chromatography-MS analysis

Cala, M. P.; Meesters, R. J.
Bioanalysis | 2017

This comparative study examines microsampling techniques in metabolic fingerprinting studies applying gas chromatography-ms analysis. Our results suggest that whole blood microsampling techniques do not obtain statistically different results in comparison with the metabolomics applied standard reference method of protein precipitation, in terms of the number of detected compounds, the reproducibility and modeling of differences between the groups.

Analysis of whole blood by ICP-MS equipped with a high temperature total sample consumption system

Cañabate, Águeda; García-Ruiz, Esperanza; Resano, Martín; Todolí, José-Luis
Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry | 2017

This study analyzes whole blood by ICP-MS equipped with a high temperature total sample consumption system.

Minimally invasive microbiopsies: a novel sampling method for identifying asymptomatic, potentially infectious carriers of Leishmania donovani

Kirstein, O. D.; Abbasi, I.; Horwitz, B. Z.; Skrip, L.; Hailu, A.; Jaffe, C.; Li, L. L.; Prow, T. W.; Warburg, A.
Int J Parasitol | 2017

This study used minimally invasive microbiopsy devices to assess Leishmania donovani in people living in endemic regions of Ethiopia. Microbiopsy detected parasite DNA in many asymptomatic participants and at higher rates than larger finger-prick samples, supporting further research on human reservoirs of transmission.
