Microsampling and LC-MS/MS for antidoping testing of glucocorticoids in urine

Protti, M.; Mandrioli, R.; Mercolini, L.
Bioanalysis | 2020

This study developed a urine microsampling LC-MS/MS workflow for anti-doping analysis of glucocorticoids. Real microsamples agreed closely with liquid urine and showed strong linearity, extraction yield, precision, and limited matrix effects.

A whole blood microsampling assay for vancomycin: development, validation and application for pediatric clinical study

Moorthy, G. S.; Downes, K. J.; Vedar, C.; Zuppa, A. F.
Bioanalysis | 2020

This study developed and validated an LC-MS/MS assay for vancomycin in 20 µL VAMS whole-blood samples. The method is being applied in an ongoing pediatric clinical study and demonstrated long-term dried-sample stability.

Use of capillary dried blood for quantification of intact IGF-I by LC-HRMS for antidoping analysis

Mongongu, C.; Moussa, E. M.; Semence, F.; Roulland, I.; Ericsson, M.; Coudore, F.; Marchand, A.; Buisson, C.
Bioanalysis | 2020

This study developed and validated a high-throughput LC-HRMS method for intact IGF-I in VAMS dried blood. The workflow showed promise for accurate, minimally invasive measurement in athlete anti-doping samples.

Quantification of testosterone, androstenedione and 17-hydroxyprogesterone in whole blood collected using Mitra microsampling devices

Marshall, D. J.; Adaway, J. E.; Hawley, J. M.; Keevil, B. G.
Ann Clin Biochem | 2020

This study developed an LC-MS/MS assay for testosterone, androstenedione, and 17-hydroxyprogesterone in blood collected with Mitra devices. Finger-prick samples showed minimal bias for androstenedione and 17-hydroxyprogesterone compared with conventional measurements.

Assessment of capillary volumetric blood microsampling for the analysis of central nervous system drugs and metabolites

Protti, M.; Marasca, C.; Cirrincione, M.; Cavalli, A.; Mandrioli, R.; Mercolini, L.
Analyst | 2020

This study evaluated capillary volumetric microsampling for measuring central nervous system drugs and metabolites. The validated workflow supported accurate self- and home-sampling and may enable more patient-centered therapeutic drug monitoring.

Application of Volumetric Absorptive Microsampling Devices to the Simoa® SARS-CoV-2 IgG Antibody Test

Quanterix
2020

This application note describes the use of VAMS devices with the Simoa SARS-CoV-2 IgG Antibody Test. Initial results demonstrated repeatability, correlation, and stability supporting remote, small-volume sample collection.

Assessment of tacrolimus and creatinine concentration collected using Mitra microsampling devices

Marshall, D. J.; Kim, J. J.; Brand, S.; Bryne, C.; Keevil, B. G.
Ann Clin Biochem | 2020

This study assessed Mitra microsampling for tacrolimus and creatinine monitoring in renal transplant patients. Results showed small biases versus standard assays and supported finger-prick microsampling as an alternative for home monitoring.

Immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and mechanisms of immunopathological changes in COVID-19

Azkur, A. K.; Akdis, M.; Azkur, D.; Sokolowska, M.; van de Veen, W.; Bruggen, M. C.; O'Mahony, L.; Gao, Y.; Nadeau, K.; Akdis, C. A.
Allergy | 2020

This review summarizes immune responses and immunopathological changes associated with COVID-19. While broader than microsampling, it may support COVID-related context for serology, immune monitoring, or related application areas.

Metabolomics/lipidomics of dried blood spots using a novel blood microsampling device (hemaPEN®)

Konstantinos Kouremenos, Andrew Gooley, Kannan Ragunathan , Pawanbir Singh , Christopher Bowen , David de Souza , David Melville , Wei Boon Hon , Dedreia Tull , Florian Lapierre , Anne Collins
2019

This presentation examines metabolomics/lipidomics of dried blood spots using a novel blood microsampling device (hemaPEN®). No significant differences (p-values <0.05, fold change >1.5) were observed between biological/technical replicates (log transformed and median normalized data) demonstrating the intra- and inter- volumetric precision of the hemaPEN device.

Implementation of Tecan® automation with Neoteryx Mitra® volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) for reagent preparation for an Anti-Drug Antibody (ADA) assay

Merck
2019

This presentation examines implementation of Tecan® automation with neoteryx Mitra® volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) for reagent preparation for an anti-drug antibody (ADA) assay. The poster will summarize the successful implementation of the Tecan® automation process with Mitra® VAMS tips, which demonstrated high concordance with data from manually processed VAMS.
