Microsampling Devices for Routine Therapeutic Drug Monitoring-Are We There Yet?

Morgan, P. E.
Ther Drug Monit | 2021

This study examines microsampling devices for routine therapeutic drug monitoring-are we there yet. Although examples of patient self-sampling are rare at present, studies that evaluated feedback found it to be largely positive, revealing the feasibility of microsampling for TDM.

Infliximab Level Between Venous and Capillary Blood Using Novel Device Strongly Correlate in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Patients

Zijlstra, M.; Jongsma, M. M. E.; de Vries, A.; Schaap, T.; Bloem, K.; de Ridder, L.
J Pediatr Gastroenterol Nutr | 2021

This study examines infliximab level between venous and capillary blood using novel device strongly correlate in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease patients. This is the first study in patients with PIBD to show that bloodspot technology is a patient friendly alternative method to measure IFX blood levels in PIBD.

Green and sustainable drug analysis – Combining microsampling and microextraction of drugs of abuse

Mestad, Ingrid Oksavik; Gjelstad, Astrid; Pedersen-Bjergaard, Stig; Øiestad, Elisabeth Leere
Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy | 2021

This study examines green and sustainable drug analysis – combining microsampling and microextraction of drugs of abuse. A linear calibration model was found for all drugs but morphine.

Feasibility of a Noninterventional Decentralized Clinical Trial Model in Adults with Major Depressive Disorder

Fowler, J. Corey; Skubiak, Taisa; Engelhardt, Kirsten; Furst, Benjamin; Zhao, Sophia; Nyilas, Margaretta; Profit, Debbie; Carson, William
Journal of Scientific Innovation in Medicine | 2021

This study examines feasibility of a noninterventional decentralized clinical trial model in adults with major depressive disorder. This study demonstrated that decentralized clinical trials can be performed in patients with stable MDD.

Duration of SARS-CoV-2 sero-positivity in a large longitudinal sero-surveillance cohort: the COVID-19 Community Research Partnership

Herrington, David M.
BMC Infect Dis. | 2021

This study examines duration of SARS-CoV-2 sero-positivity in a large longitudinal sero-surveillance cohort, with a focus on the COVID-19 community research partnership. The short duration of antibody response suggests that the true population prevalence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection may be significantly higher than presumed based on earlier sero-surveillance studies.

Determination of Cu in blood via direct analysis of dried blood spots using high-resolution continuum source graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry

García-Poyo, M. Carmen; Pécheyran, Christophe; Rello, Luis; García-González, Elena; Alonso Rodríguez, Sharay; Nakadi, Flávio V.; Aramendía, Maite; Resano, Martín
Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry | 2021

This study evaluated four volumetric dried-blood-spot devices for direct copper measurement using high-resolution continuum source graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. All four supported accurate analysis, although device-specific blank variation affected uncertainty at very low copper concentrations.

COVID-19 Outcomes Among US Military Health System Beneficiaries Include Complications Across Multiple Organ Systems and Substantial Functional Impairment

Richard, S. A.; Pollett, S. D.; Lanteri, C. A.; Millar, E. V.; Fries, A. C.; Maves, R. C.; Utz, G. C.; Lalani, T.; Smith, A.; Mody, R. M.; Ganesan, A.; Colombo, R. E.; Colombo, C. J.; Lindholm, D. A.; Madar, C.; Chi, S.; Huprikar, N.; Larson, D. T.; Bazan, S. E.; English, C.; Parmelee, E.; Mende, K.; Laing, E. D.; Broder, C. C.; Blair, P. W.; Chenoweth, J. G.; Simons, M. P.; Tribble, D. R.; Agan, B. K.; Burgess, T. H.; Epicc Covid- Cohort Study Group
Open Forum Infect Dis | 2021

This prospective study evaluated one-month clinical and functional outcomes after COVID-19 infection in US Military Health System beneficiaries. Hospitalization risk was associated with older age, obesity, and race or ethnicity, and many participants had not returned to normal activities after one month.

Analytical Method Validation of Doxorubicin and Doxorubicinol in Volumetric Absorptive Microsampling by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

Harahap, Yahdiana; Juanita, Maria; Maggadani, Baitha Palanggatan
Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University | 2021

This study examines analytical method validation of doxorubicin and doxorubicinol in volumetric absorptive microsampling by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

Alternative Sampling Devices to Collect Dried Blood Microsamples: State-of-the-Art

Delahaye, L.; Veenhof, H.; Koch, B. C. P.; Alffenaar, J. C.; Linden, R.; Stove, C.
Ther Drug Monit | 2021

This study examines alternative sampling devices to collect dried blood microsamples, with a focus on state-of-the-art. More extensive evaluation of these newly developed devices, not only analytically but also clinically, is needed to demonstrate their real-life applicability, which is a prerequisite for their use in the field of TDM.

Comprehensive analysis of SARS-CoV-2 antibody dynamics in New Zealand

Whitcombe, A. L.; McGregor, R.; Craigie, A.; James, A.; Charlewood, R.; Lorenz, N.; Dickson, J. M.; Sheen, C. R.; Koch, B.; Fox-Lewis, S.; McAuliffe, G.; Roberts, S. A.; Morpeth, S. C.; Taylor, S.; Webb, R. H.; Jack, S.; Upton, A.; Ussher, J. E.; Moreland, N. J.
Clin Transl Immunology | 2021

This study characterized SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses for up to eight months after infection in New Zealand and demonstrated the feasibility of measuring anti-RBD IgG from finger-prick samples collected using Mitra. RBD and spike IgG responses remained relatively stable during follow-up.
