The Highs & Lows of Ultra-sensitive Immunoassays

LGC
2022

This presentation reviews the opportunities and challenges of ultra-sensitive immunoassay development and validation on the Quanterix HD-X platform. Case studies include a cytokine six-plex assay using Mitra VAMS samples, along with practical considerations for sensitivity, calibration, automation, and method development.

Volumetric absorptive microsampling as a suitable tool to monitor tyrosine kinase inhibitors

Verougstraete, N.; Stove, C. P.
J Pharm Biomed Anal | 2022

This method validation study developed a VAMS-based LC-MS/MS approach for monitoring multiple tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The method showed stability and performance suitable for future clinical follow-up studies using capillary microsamples.

Volumetric microsampling for simultaneous remote immunosuppressant and kidney function monitoring in outpatient kidney transplant recipients

Zwart, T. C.; Metscher, E.; van der Boog, P. J. M.; Swen, J. J.; de Fijter, J. W.; Guchelaar, H. J.; de Vries, A. P. J.; Moes, Djar
Br J Clin Pharmacol | 2022

This study evaluated volumetric microsampling for remote monitoring of immunosuppressants and kidney function in kidney transplant recipients. Results support microsampling as a potential tool for decentralized post-transplant monitoring.

Optimizing Extraction Recovery for Volumetric Adsorptive Microsampling

Labcorp
2021

This presentation evaluates extraction recovery for VAMS samples under different anticoagulant and hematocrit conditions. Recovery was analyte-dependent, and the results identify areas requiring additional optimization for consistent long-term performance.

Validation of High-Throughput, Semiquantitative Solid-Phase SARS-CoV-2 Serology Assays in Serum and Dried Blood Spot Matrices

Maritz, Leo; Woudberg, Nicholas J.; Bennett, Amber C.; Soares, Andreia; Lapierre, Florian; Devine, Justin; Kimberg, Matti; Bouic, Patrick J.
Bioanalysis | 2021

This study validates high-throughput, semiquantitative solid-phase SARS-CoV-2 serology assays in serum and dried blood spot matrices. The assay demonstrated high levels of diagnostic specificity and sensitivity (85–99% for all analytes).

Sci Transl Med | 2021

This study examines undiagnosed SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity during the first 6 months of the COVID-19 pandemic in the united states. These data indicate that there were 4.8 undiagnosed SARS-CoV-2 infections for every diagnosed case of COVID-19, and an estimated 16.8 million infections were undiagnosed by mid-July 2020 in the United States.

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Lamotrigine, Lacosamide, and Levetiracetam in Dried Capillary Blood-Determination of Conversion Factors for Serum-Based Reference Ranges

Klimpel, D.; Hagemann, A.; Bien, C. G.; Dufaux, B.; May, T. W.; Brandt, C.
Ther Drug Monit | 2021

This study examines therapeutic drug monitoring of lamotrigine, lacosamide, and levetiracetam in dried capillary blood-determination of conversion factors for serum-based reference ranges. A simple ratio approach using the mean ratio and Passing-Bablok regression showed the best results for all 3 AEDs.

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Antidepressant by Minimally-Invasive Techniques in Eating Disorders Patients: A Clinical Research Report with A Focus on Vortioxetine

Panariello, Fabio; Mastellari, Tomas; di Gianni, Angela; Fornasari, Francesco; Borgiani, Gianluca; Protti, Michele; Mercolini, Laura; De Ronchi, Diana; Rita Atti, Anna
Archives of Clinical and Medical Case Reports | 2021

This study examines therapeutic drug monitoring of antidepressant by minimally-invasive techniques in eating disorders patients, with a focus on a clinical research report with a focus on vortioxetine. Despite the small size of the sample, by considering these preliminary data, we are confident that further studies will allow us to outline that TDM may represent a valid tool to achieve a consistent clinical efficacy of AD in patients diagnosed with ED.

Self-sampling at home using volumetric absorptive microsampling: coupling analytical evaluation to volunteers' perception in the context of a large scale study

Van Uytfanghe, K.; Heughebaert, L.; Stove, C. P.
Clin Chem Lab Med | 2021

This study examines self-sampling at home using volumetric absorptive microsampling, with a focus on coupling analytical evaluation to volunteers' perception in the context of a large scale study.

Microsampling for monitoring gentamicin in neonates.

Parker, Suzanne L.; Irwin, Adam D.; Hosking, Francine; August, Deanne; Schoenmaker, Brittany; Pandey, Saurabh; Wallis, Steven C.; Lipman, Jeffrey; Roberts, Jason A.; Davies, Mark W.
International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents | 2021

This study examines microsampling for monitoring gentamicin in neonates. This proof-of-concept study demonstrates that the use of microsampling for TDM by pathology services can fulfil the requirements of providing an accurate gentamicin concentration in a timely manner.
