This pilot study evaluates capillary-blood microsampling for genome sequencing in healthy newborns. An additional heel-stick sample produced sufficient DNA for genome sequencing, supporting the feasibility of the approach.
This presentation reviews the capabilities, advantages, and methodological challenges of dried blood microsampling. It emphasizes volumetric sampling, hematocrit correction, automation, and the need for robust validated measurements.
This presentation examines a novel patient-focused approach to home sample collection improves rate of return and sample quality and enables research to continue during the COVID19 pandemic. Adjusting the sample collection procedure has enabled this project to continue to progress towards successful completion when on-site research visits were restricted or paused.
This presentation examines remote microsample blood collection and proteomic analysis of patients with prior takotsubo cardiomyopathy shows profile distinct from normal controls. Using remote blood collection, we show persistent differential protein expression in TTS patients vs controls, indicative of underlying cardiomyopathy in TTS survivors.
This study examines quantifying post-vaccination protective anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies in blood and saliva with a fully automated, high throughput digital immunoassay. Conclusions The potential of a simple, fully automated high throughput anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG test to quantitatively measure protective antibodies in samples collected remotely or at the point of care was demonstrated.
This study examines point-of-care testing, with a focus on home is where the lab is. We describe examples of what is already available or in development, discuss unmet needs, and suggest avenues of future research.
This study explored the acceptability of at-home dried blood and urine microsampling among children and young people. Feedback was positive, with 80% of questionnaire respondents willing to participate in at-home microsampling studies.
This study examines next generation VAMS®–Trypsin immobilization for instant proteolysis in bottom-up protein determination. In this proof-of-concept paper we show that covalently bound trypsin to VAMS exhibits sufficient activity for proteomic purposes without altering physical conditions.
This presentation compares Mitra VAMS finger-prick samples with venous blood for testosterone, cortisol, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and β-CTX measurement. Capillary concentrations correlated with the corresponding venous results for the analytes evaluated.
